AMY CATHERINE WELCH
FILMMAKER PERFORMER WRITER
Picture

Amy Catherine Welch is dedicated to the art of performance and storytelling, across various mediums.

As a writer and director, her focus centers on crafting narratives that are queer, female-driven, often historical in nature, or infused with something otherworldly. Notably, she debuted her award-winning film “Dear Sister” in 2020, shot in rural Massachusetts,
viewable here. She is currently writing her second film, set for production in 2024 (“Good Seeing You”). More information on that, coming soon.

As a performer, her range is vast. Located in Brooklyn, NY, she has a musical act/band alter-ego called Lady Catherine of Welch. She recently co-produced and released her first EP, “Primal Feelings” in October. To read more about this, and listen, click here. Amy is also a professional actor, an Atlantic Acting school alum -her most recent roles include playing “Blossom” in Who Murdered Love in New York, NY, “Natalie” in the film Wish You Were Here (dir. Wesley Foster), "Sally Bowles", in Cabaret, and "Zoe" in The Wild People of New York (a web-series in development about young 20 somethings living in Brooklyn, unavailable to stream at this time).

Additionally, as a playwright she is undertaking the development of a show exploring Shakespeare’s life through the lens of a lesbian woman cross-dressing as a man. And in 2018, for her thesis at Mount Holyoke College , she wrote and workshopped “The Fairest One”, a queer Snow White musical, with plans for further development.

Amy is represented by UGA talent agency. If interested in booking, please reach out to UGA directly. (
